#010 | I moved to Australia:

A new chapter..

Good'day brothas!

The last few weeks have been busy

And all kindsa hectic.

So lemme explain ⬇

Read time: 3 min

Another rainy night. Another weekend home alone.

Just 3 weeks ago Saturday 18th March

I got a call from my buddy in Oz.

He was telling me how unbelievably different life's been since leaving the UK

And after just a 30 minute chat

I said "fuck it:

-I'm moving".

Crazy. Impulsive. Wild.

No talking over with family

friends

Nada.

But when I make decisions I fucking do it.

Next day I hopped on the computer

And looked into how tf you get up and move 10,000 miles.

By the end of the day:

I managed to apply and secure my Visa.

Wtf..

Shit's actually happening.. fast.

I called my mum and told her I'd be gone in the next few months.

After speakin bout it I felt more sure of the decision

And by Monday (the day after) I went to book my ticket

..(that's where it got a little wild).

I booked that shit for just 18 days time.

Holy shit

-how did this happen..

Less than 3 weeks til my life's flipped upside down

and I've barely told a soul.

Convos were wild.

People confused. shocked. upset.

But everyone all agreed:

The Move:

With the countdown begun

I looked round my 5 year old studio

And was stumped how all this would fit..

1 bag.

Entire life.

My conclusion?

It ain't gonna work.

I've never been huge on 'stuff'

But my prize possession was here:

I knew none of it could come with me..

Or even be portable-

Painful.

But after some journaling

I realised how important sacrifices in these moments are.

Another stick or twist moment

A time to roll the dice and see what more there's to life.

You gotta be willing to bet all in with ya current situation

But this is where most get stuck.

They're confronted by the biggest obstacle:

🔘 The Comfort Chasm

That 'nice life' you have?

It's prolly too comfortable for you to give up.

Most'll never see past their small surroundings

-not cos they lack ambition

But they got too settled in a mediocre life they never actually wanted.

See

After speaking to some peeps, they said they'd 'love to go 1 day'

But let's be honest

They won't.

And this was all the confirmation I needed.

Why?

You can determine your potential for success

By how much you sway from what's 'normal':

Defy the status quo.

If everyone's doing one thing?

Do the opposite

Or as my friend Kieran Drew says:

When they zig, you zag

Kieran Drew

How I did it:

Now down to just 2 weeks before flying

And with everything to do..

The best thing was target the longest levers.

🔘 Sell yo shit boy

After spending the last year trying (and failing online businesses)

I definitely wasn't in the position to just 'get up and go'.

So I knew the most important thing was sell my main assets:

  • car

  • Mac

  • studio

I set up an eBay account and got listing.

The problem?

No one wanted it.

And my car was beaten and bruised.

But I did whatever it took.. and got the car sale the night before leaving.

🔘 The final week

After hours and hours researching:

  • what to do

  • where to go

I decided I was more intrigued by mystery.

So the plan is no plan.

Yep.

No pressure to meet my own expectations.

(Ngl as a serial planner and over thinker

this scares me)

But knowing there's so much more out there

Excites me even more.

For now all I know is we have one life

And you gotta say fuck it and go after the life you want.

Even if ya not 24 and free of responsibility like me

There's so much life to be had.

And when these stick or twist moments come by..

I'm taking the risk.

Every. Single. Time.
